The thumbnail attracted me to this one in particular. The background is great, the setting is great and it has very good sharpness.

One suggestion would be a slight crop of the background to the right, just enough to get his head a little further away from horz center and put him closer to the sweet spot.

Although it contributed to this wonderful background, and I know it can be tough with macros, but a little more DOF next time or putting the hyperfocal point so his eye is in focus would have made this a killer shot.

Returning for comment: The details are nice but I don't like the un-natural coloring.
the idea of this challenge as much as I understand it, was to capture something pink. Not to PS for it.

Well it didn't take long to do once set up, literally a few seconds and once the mag glass was at the right height it burnt straight away. White paper was placed underneath the leaf in full sun.
Not much I could do about the shadow - it was the only true position I could have the glass in which the leaf would burn.
