 I knew what I wanted to do for this challenge from the beginning and my submission is close to what I imagined. It's not perfect - there are things I know could have been done better, but I had limited resources. 1. I never had a tripod on hand. I would have liked sharper focus. 2. I'm not sure about the shadow across it...But, I guess it shows what is actually making the leaf burn.
I took a lot of frames and this one had the smoke effect happening, so I really only had this one to work with. It was difficult as I had camera in one hand and magnifying glass in the other without trying to shake !

Well it didn't take long to do once set up, literally a few seconds and once the mag glass was at the right height it burnt straight away. White paper was placed underneath the leaf in full sun.
Not much I could do about the shadow - it was the only true position I could have the glass in which the leaf would burn.

I love the idea and the stark white bg but I find the shadows to be too heavy. They are distracting to me.
