"POP !" a macro illusion by graphicfunkComment by Brad: A concept shot for sure and a well-deserved ribbon here Daniel.
Keep up the vision and execution, and thanks for the technical details. I knew this took a lot of shooting to get right.
Congrats! |

"POP !" a macro illusion by graphicfunkComment by jmsetzler: Greetings...
This is a beautiful execution... I gave this photo a 10 and was actually surprised to see it in the top 3... congrats :)
I listened to a discussion once about a technique for this type of photo where the bottom of the bottle is removed... the bottle is mounted and water is poured in from the open bottom of the bottle... is this similar to a technique you may have used for this? |

Blue Moon, you saw me standing alone...by graphicfunkComment by graphicfunk: For those who requested info: This is my "Cabaret" version of Blue Moon, hence the stage lighting and fake moon. I am sorry to those who expected the classic mood shot. I opted for the cabaret interpretation. I love the lighting produced by stage lights and I knew the prejudice against using the fake moon...but that is who I am, sorry.
The moon is a lamp. The background was muslin stretched and sprayed black and sand thrown on wet paint for gritty texture. Lit with bounced strobe off shinny blue material. Second strobe near ground bounced off light purple material. Moon was light with black light. basically a self portrait. |
