A simple dislocationby graphicfunkComment by MrAnalogy: This is one of those "Huh?" photos that has me running all the possibilities I can imagine through my head to try to sort out the How? before the voting ends and your comments become available. If this was a double-exposure using some sort of 'barn door' to cover half the lens at a time, kudos for posing and masking for the shots! If it was done by another means ... well, I can't wait to read about them! |

Relicby graphicfunkComment by arngrimur: One of the most original shots in the challenge. Very good tonal work and a composition that makes sense. This photo has a bunch of my favorite elements. Interesting reflections, a bird, rust, numbers and a ship detail. -10 |

How it begins...by graphicfunkComment by metoecus: Something about the props make this look like a snapshot of a scene in a school play. Your model's posture and facial expression make it look like she's quietly resigned herself to whatever is about to happen. Since it looks like things are not going well for her, this picture would be stronger if she showed more emotion. Since the eyes and mouth are two important sources of emotional queues, blindfolding your model reduces my ability to sympathize with her. Increasing the amount of light on her face would improve the shot as well. |

A simple dislocationby graphicfunkComment by whagerbaumer: We would not usually cut someone's head open in this manner to look inside nor allow ours to be so cut off while gazing inside. I would also like to have somewhat of a peek inside myself. It is somewhat interesting that left and right halves are shown masked off with similar masks. Good modeling by observer, nice intense look. I assume you were both models and this is a dual strobed single long exposure. An 8 for creativity and execution. |
