Soaring in the heavensby snackwellsComment by bhowie: For me this could have been improved by cropping the bottom. Just my opinion and obviously you have intentionally chosen to leave it in (photography is so subjective...), but otherwise I love the tones in the upper portion of the frame. |

Over all image impact is strong, the background out of focus helps draw your eye to the subject. The expression on her face is relaxed and pleasing. All this makes for a good out door portrait. Perhaps a vertical framing would have been a little better. That would let the subject fill more of the frame.
The image appears to be a bit (candy color) in your comments you indicate that the image was enhanced by - Saturation - Auto Contrast - Shadows and Highlights. I have noticed a tendency to over saturate images; a portrait in most cases does not need much saturation. Too much saturation and contrast tend to make the flesh tones look (candy color). Not to say that this is not a good portrait, however I think if you were to use less saturation and contrast you may see the difference. Some time less is better.
Over all I would say well done, keep up the good work.

Who says girls have all the fun? by snackwellsComment by Bear_Music: Very professionally done. Nice to see someone shooting a watch with the hands in balance, most didn't bother. Overall tonalities a bit flat, and this is hurting the luminace of the metal. A bit of a goose in levels would do wonders. Well-balanced, a strong entry. |
