Which is Your Guidebook?by jerryComment by ClubJuggle: I'm not sure I understand what you were trying to convey with this shot. If your point was to convey a diversity of religion I find it curious that you did not include any non-Christian religions. I also miss the connection to the theme other than the fact that the bibles were placed under cellophane. The point of this challenge was to experiment with the effect of transparent/semitransparent objects on light, and this is not done here. |

Which is Your Guidebook?by jerryComment by karmat: Personally, I would probably choose the one on the far left, since you asked. :-) The lighting (or lack thereof) on the Book of Mormon, makes it difficult to distinguish the lettering. Maybe if you had used two sources of light, one on either end, all the books would be equally visible, and the brightness on the left would not be as noticeable. karmat |

Which is Your Guidebook?by jerryComment by JaGo: afraid I don't get it. I get the transparency, but not the point of the composition. also, lighting way too strong on the left, way to weak on the right - unless that was part of the point? |

Which is Your Guidebook?by jerryComment by myqyl: This shot looks a bit forced. Kind of like you had a message and stuffed it under cling wrap so it would fit the challenge. A "Through the Len" ministry can be a wonderous calling, but look at 'Reading By Candlelight' to see the respect your message deserves. Sorry if that sounds harsh, I mean it constructively. |

Which is Your Guidebook?by jerryComment by FranziskaLang: i guess i don't quite get the connection between different versions of the bible and cling film ... why did you combine the two? from a technical aspect, the photo is fine, although the lighting could be a little more even, it's too light on the left and too dark on the right. -- gr8photos (4) |

Which is Your Guidebook?by jerryComment by RedRuthann: Interesting. What's the message - does the size of the book indicate a preference? Only thing is the exposure on the left and the lack of exposure on the right - maybe it's intentional, even so the right could be just a little moe in order to identify the book. Perhaps bringing the light up a little. I'm seeing the emphasis on the larger book. Creative and good work. Ruthann |
