Ok, this is very nice. The clarity of the dog is wonderful, and is lit well enough that his black hair still stands out from the black background.

In some photos, I like the border. I think this would be better without it.

Beautiful lighting and great profile portrait. Maybe could use a little more DOF to get the nose in focus, too, but it's not bad this way. The eye is beautifully sharp and clearly conveys a devoted expression to me. Looks like a little drop of eye goop, though; I try to check for those right before shooting and clean them off. Personal pet peeve ;-)

Searching for "never too late for sunrise" brings up no results so I cannot compare to the brown unfortunately. Still, a very nicely composed image with good depth, detail and colors. 8

Burning sky looks great here, exposed well, landscape is very interesting but dominates the entire frame, perhaps if this was in vertical form... but then again, in this challenge, creativity is restrained..6.
