The colours in this shot are great, giving a good contrast between the leaf and the background. The diagonal of the leaf is also good for leading the eye into the shot, but the waterline along the top of the frame is a bit distracting. A slightly deeper DoF would get all of the leaf in focus, including the nearside, which I think would help this image.

great contrast with the background.. a good choice!! if I were to try it, I might see what the entire leaf looked like being wet, while still keeping the water pooled as it is... that might help with the glare on the middle finger of the leaf.. then again, maybe not... good luck!

nice colors, the orange and blues and water. it looks like the leaf is in a bowl of some kind. if the dark part of the picture at the bottom is water in the bowl, and the bowl is blue underneath the water, i would have liked to see the blue there instead of the black. it would have kind of completed great color and quality you have in the rest of the photo.

I like the composition of the leaf, and like that the bright colors are placed against a cold, dark background. The circular rim, or edge or whatever it is, adds interest, as does the water on the leaf. It's a nice shot, and I like it, but it does not have a lot of emotional impact for me. 8. lhall

While personally to me composition-wise, this is an everage image; the textures, colours and clarity make it stand out. I especially enjoyed the way the light is reflected of the water on the leaf. Good job!
