Smooth as Grassby AaronComment by BAMartin: The DOF in this photo is very interesting. I did not "get" it the first couple of times I looked at it, but I kept coming back and finally I do see what you were trying to achieve. Good job of taking a risk and submitting something that forced me to think. |

Smooth as Grassby AaronComment by scw1217: I know some will say they do not like this picture, but I find it very creative. Not sure it has enough texture for this assignment, but I do like the photograph. |

Smooth as Grassby AaronComment by myqyl: I must confess to dismissing this image prematurely in my first viewing... I said "another dang soft focus of texture"... I admit, I was wrong... This is the one photo this week tht made a shallow dof work FOR you instead of against. I think I would have liked it even more if the dof included that small patch at the very bottom... Kind of a 'sharp up to the cat' thing. Also, did you consider moving the cat (easier said then done, I know) to the 'third' point? This may or may not have been an improvement, just wondering if you considered it... Bumping you 3 points to a 7... Hope everyone takes a second look |

Smooth as Grassby AaronComment by jmsetzler: this is a really nice concept... I love the overall image, but if the cat had been in focus here along with the foreground grass, the visual impact would have been much greater... = 5 - jmsetzler |

Smooth as Grassby AaronComment by BeeGee: if this is really the effect you wanted for this shot, it's just not working for me. the very soft focus on about 95% of the pic don't help for the texture assignment, IMHO. 3 beegee |

Smooth as Grassby AaronComment by Journey: Perhaps everything is deliberately out of focus but I don't care for it. Ditto on the over-sepia toning. |

Smooth as Grassby AaronComment by Swashbuckler: Interesting use of sepia, but there is sooo much out of focus....is this one of those soft focus shots I keep hearing about? If the cat were a nude, she'd be upset! Ha 4 Swash |
