The Deckhand by aznymComment by roz: dont exactly know why this image appeals so much to me .. but it does ..
the guy looking straight into the camera with almost no emotion is actually emotive .. like he doesnt care .. whatever emotional overlay i want to put onto this and whatever the reality .. is neither here nor there ..
i hope this is recognized for the excellent slice of humanity that it is . :) |

The Deckhand by aznymComment by JulietNN: I love centered objects. I am all about centered objects. Pretty much all my photography is centered. But for once, I do think that if you had cropped this at the biggest right hand plank, the man being slightly off centered would have really added a whollop to the photo, I always hold my hand up, flat, or on the side when looking at a photo, to see how it would look cropped. Most of the time, I am still about the center, as it is not popular and many people do not like it. Maybe try it and see what you think? It does help in giving a new perspective to a shot. And of course , please ignore me if you think I am talking drivel (which is most of the time!!! ) |

everythingby aznymComment by mariuca: Have to say that I strongly disagree with tate on the reflection. To me it added this feeling of being seen and listened. And the time on the clock is truly superfluous in the context. Great image. |

everythingby aznymComment by tnun: my comment was going to be "the feet," but of course everything else is part of the music. but now I want to repeat that it is the feet, and in a much more profound way than initially felt. |
