Shadowsby GinaRothfelsComment by JuliBoc: Nice detail, focus, and composition. The shadow adds interest. The focal point and interest for me is the key. I might have cleaned up the wall, where the dirt specks donĂ¢€™t seem to benefit the image. |

Fabric by GinaRothfelsComment by GinaRothfels: Originally posted by digifotojo: Interesting variation of textures and patterns including the unusual tree bark, never saw that before. I googled it and came up with silk floss tree native to the tropical and subtropical forests of South America. Thanks to you I learned something. ;-) |
To be honest I don't know what that tree is but I'm in Africa, so a South American tree seems unlikely.
Edit: I stand corrected. There is a silk floss tree in South Africa, but most of the photos I see have worse thorns than are visible in this photo. I'll have to have a better look at that tree next time I'm at the flea market and try to figure it out. Message edited by author 2019-03-04 13:00:59. |

Fabric by GinaRothfelsComment by streetpigeon: Enjoyable assemblage of textures and patterns. The fabric is settled and grounded, which I find comforting. The pied, muted background is pleasing, as are the leaves strewn on the trunk and earth. |

Lights by GinaRothfelsComment by wbanning: I'd like to see the histogram on this image! From total black to blown out whites. In this case, both are appropriate and necessary. The portions of the light that lack detail, shouldn't have any - like staring into the sun. This works well in composition and as an exploration of grayscale tonal range. Keep the theme! |
