day 4 - kettle spoutby GinaRothfelsComment by jmritz: Originally posted by GinaRothfels: Originally posted by jmritz: The alien robot, that's what I saw when I first looked at the thumbnail. Just love the composition that makes the everyday look so different. Maybe the left side should be slightly cropped to even it out but then again it might be my need to make things appear proper and classical. |
I tried out cropping but for some reason it just didn't feel right. |
I'll bet your right. Happens to me all the time. I do have a habit of straightening and leveling everything. Must be my training as a painter. Like your photograph. |

day 4 - kettle spoutby GinaRothfelsComment by trevytrev: Cool capture and it does look like a robot. I will say that it does seem crooked or off balanced but like you said cropping it may not have looked right. |

day 3 - timeby GinaRothfelsComment by GinaRothfels: Originally posted by citymars: Great experiment. Love the effect and the exposure is just right. Would like to see a little more of the red at bottom, as it feels chopped off (more apparent in the thumbnail). |
I agree about the chopped off feeling. As I said it was a rushed job, I was working with a prime lens and didn't have time to position the clock just right. Also, for some reason, my tripod doesn't seem to be level, so I had to rotate the image just a fraction, losing a little more off the bottom. Had it been for a challenge, I'd have needed to get the technical side of this image better, but it was just an experiment. |
