The Stairway to ??by NelzieComment by sfalice: A few years ago I spent an ElderHostel week on this pleasant island and enjoyed every minute of it. (I flew in on a light plane in bad weather, and while I have wished for a longer runway a few times in my life, this was the first time I wished for a wider runway) That aside, this stair picture is a good one - and yes, I know where it is - you did the dappled light/shade beautifully and excellent composition (IMO). The boats and the horses pictures seem a bit busy. The boat with the fishtail is good but perhaps one of your other pics will show the Grand Hotel at a better angle. It is a glorious sight! |

Work Horsesby NelzieComment by Bungler: The detail on the sunlit horse is great but unfortunately the second animal is totally shadowed on my monitor. Did you get any closer images of them? An almost portrait shot of the near horse with all its bridlery(?) would certainly work well with the light that you have here. |

Sun Worshippersby NelzieComment by sford5000: This picture really speaks to me. The center flower seems to be like, "Hey, Listen to me." While the rest are either talking to one another or trying to listen. Great photography. |

Sun Worshippersby NelzieComment by cghubbell: The front flowers are outside the depth of field, which feels a bit awkward to me. IYou've done a good job of isolating your subject - nothing to distract from the field of flowers. |

Sun Worshippersby NelzieComment by Olyuzi: Color is rich and saturated but I think the image could use just a bit more contrast. I also wish your DOF was deeper both near and far so that all of the sunflowers were in focus. |

Sun Worshippersby NelzieComment by Dr.Confuser: Subject is okay but a little cliched. DOF is distracting. Composition could use some work. I think it would improve the picture if you had taken it from a more unusual perspective. Higher up (as in from a tree or the top of your car) or at a more oblique angle. As it is, it looks like it could have been shot through your car window. Looks like it was shot mid-day. Try earlier in the morning or very late in the pre-sundown sunshine. |

Park Bench in Shadeby NelzieComment by Neil: A very interesting subject, but the rusty bolt seems to me to be the main subject and thus should be sharp. Also, perhaps a little more breathing room (less crop) on the left near the nail/bolt would have balanced this better. |
