2 problems I have with the photo, first is the guy in it, he takes over the picture rather than it being the 'wheat', second is the green twine on the wheat itself, I know you can't control it, but if you could, removing it would really help the photo.

I've seen lightning split a telegraph pole like a palm tree. This is a great idea and the colours in the rainbow really stand out but..... I think the POV doesn't work because of the wires and the interruption to the rainbow. There's an odd bit of green to the bottom left too...almost v.good

I keep comming back to this picture - it's like a train wreck in progress, you want to look aways but can't.......... It's just wrong in so many ways it slowly becomes right. There are questions that must be asked, like why, in Gods name, would you want the viewer to focus on parts of dead phone poles and a shrub when you have a neat rainbow in the picture? What were you thinking? And why are you peeking through dead poles when you should be looking for a better positon to catch the rainbow? Hey, I have the answer - you were thinking it would make allot of people come back to see it 'cause it's so unusual....... and it worked. This picture grows on you in an abstract way - so I am going to rate it high. Good luck.

Beautiful rainbow and excellent use of dof. I think this is one of the ones that would look better in full color. For this challenge, I don't understand why part of the grass was left green. The posts aren't so bad because it brings attention to the destruction and I like the softened effect on the upright one.

takes a bit of thought to fully appreciate what's going on here. i've got it now, but initially my thoughts were "eh?". i'm slightly worried the more speedy voters might pass over a bit too quickly. the capture of the rainbow is grand, though perhaps if you stood up (apologies if you're a dwarf) it would be less obscured by the dead pole? also, i would have left the devesation in monochrome - i personally think it might be more symbolic if the peace after the storm was the only thing in colour (and what glorious colour it is - it's bright and lovely) . interesting and novel concept though. 7.

I'm a little confused by this shot. The desat trick is usually used to draw your eye to the subject. My eye is drawn to several spots in this shot, but only one is truly the subject of the shot. Is it the rainbow?

interesting. very unique. I hope that is a real rainbow. If so, excellent job capturing it! I don't think i like the fact that some of the grass here is saturated, and the bright spot on the pole (on the right side) distracts my eye a lot, but overall this is a pretty good photo

This is the first time I have seen partial desat used this way....i.e..one part of the field (bottom left) still showing colour... part of the telegraph pole desaturated.
