Hey there,

It looks like theres a bit too much light reflected near the "word", but thats too picky :)

People might not find the subject appealing considering that its just a used bike. To emphasize its "used" state and to make it a little bit more appealing, I suggest converting it to sepia.

But the most important part is that if it scored low, its because the subject is not that interesting :)

Cheers man...

I like this one the best of your purples. I like the shadows and lines, the hue of the purple (very rich looking), and the pottery piece clarity and contrast to the purple.

This photo fits the challenge well, nice close-up and framed well. It's tricky to photograph shiny objects but I think this was handled here well. I think you wanted the shadows to play a role in the shot b/c I think that the different shades of purple (background and table top?) are all created by light.

IMO, the subject will benefit from a narrower aperture so that the entire foreground subject is in focus. You're probably far enough from the background to blur it. I like the decorative ball but where it's sitting on is kind of odd. Do these two go together? It's a nice photo nonetheless.

I kind of like this one...the shade of purple is almost a magenta, but it's very soothing. :o)

I think I would like it more without the pottery...just the purples together would be pretty. :o)

It's a very colorful ornament - but the image does not really grab me. The DoF is nice for the background - but also resulted in soft focus for area that should be sharp on the pottery and the yellow and red string / tassle.

The large glare on the ornament is a detractor.

Ara,

Of the three images for which you asked for comments, this is the one I prefer. It has a nice feel to it - good composition and excellent purple. I really lik the shadow - taking on a differnt shape than the vase itself.

What may be a self portraint reflected also adds a little spark of interest.

All three images suffer from less than optimum lighting.
