Because I'm the Queen, That's Why!by debitiptonComment by KDO: You certainly get your point across. I would not want to get on the wrong side of this queen unless I was her mother. Then I think I would want to "dethrone" (and I mean that in the figurative sense only) her as ruler of the domestic domain. You evoked immediate and intense emotion within me, and that is certainly one measure of the success of a piece. Great technical choice in bringing down the brightness and up the contrast so that our focus is exclusively on the subject and the amazing job you did in capturing her expression. Really fantastic image! |

Daddy's Girlby debitiptonComment by Juniper366: You know, what is makes a photo good? In my opinion, a photo is good if the mood and personality of the subjects comes through and evokes some emotion on those who view it. I think, if by looking at the photo you can get a feel for the subject's personality, what an amazing capture that is! Learning about another person simply by looking at lines, curves, light and darkness. I see this photo as being a wonderful capture of their love for each other. By looking, I can see that these two are genuine and this adds to the overall wonderfuness of the photo. All the technicallity in the world means nothing if you can't capture mood, and I believe that you have done that perfectly. High marks! Message edited by author 2004-11-24 19:01:59. |

Daddy's Girlby debitiptonComment by debitipton: Artyste and dipaulk
Thank you for your comments. I wanted to let you know that is was the palest child I have ever photographed, the lights positively glowed off her translucent skin. Compared to how dark her father's skin was I having a terrible time getting her to look natural. Had this been a members challenge I could have spot edited giving her a little more depth and more color. In the end I decided to go with this shot because I love the look on her dad's face. Everyone should have dad look that happy when hugged by his little girl. I'm in no way complaining about how this photo placed -- 121 is really good in a challenge os 638 very well done photos -- Debi |
