bugslife.jpgby MAKComment by saracat: I like the composition, and the colors work really well. There seems something a little off about the focus - your DOF is extremely shallow and it seems as though you've focused just past the eye to the back of the head, leaving the front eye out of focus. I do admit that that could be an optical illusion & I'm just not seeing it right, but when I go back and look at Jacko's bugs, it seems as though the eyes are the focus (just like in human portraits) when the DOF is so tight. |

bugslife.jpgby MAKComment by MAK: Originally posted by orussell: WOW. Some kind of shallow DOF you got going on there. I'd bump up the saturation a little in the master channel and use a little less USM (see a hint of jaggies on the antenna). Also maybe consider cropping out the foreground because it draws the eye away from the fly. Otherwise great capture. |
Excellent advice and suggestion, I will try exactly that .. god bless ya matey. |

Biggus Wheelusby MAKComment by Tammer: It's too bad the sky was overcast when you shot this. I bet the colors on the ride buckets would have been even more vivid. I do like your "ground up" view though - cool. |

Birthdayby MAKComment by Brad: Pretty decent shot technically (lighting & detail)
Not really sure I see the greeting card connection here or to a birthday. (5) |
