This is just a comment on the image as it is, not how I'm going to vote. In my opinion, the author might have exposed the foreground with a follow on shot that gives a little more detail to the image. There is a lot there that would enhance the "wow" factor. Having said that, on the other hand, the black foreground works against the colored sky giving it an air of mystery and intrigue. The balloonist being black also adds that "mystery". I like this a lot and a worth challenge entry.

Focus is excellent, but I find the DOF to be too shallow; he doesn't look like a henchman, after this title I had expected to see anything hinting to that profession. (not voting yet)

Not much to catch the eye here. The zig zags are rather low key and don't scream out at me. I would have cropped the building on the left off entirely, and converted to high contrast BW so that the lines popped.
