Ontario Sunset 1by

I suspect you suffered at the hands of the "doesn't meet the challenge" voters on this image. I have to admit, that on my monitor, I don't see any purple either, but that isn't to say the image itself isn't well done.
Compositionally, I like the angle and the leading lines you have used to direct attention into the heart of the photo. It also seems to encompass the rule of thirds well, both horizontally and vertically.
The colors are beautifully muted, working well for a sunset image. The rocks, a tad dark, lose a little of their details but one can still tell with certainty that they are rocks that water has splashed about on.
Focus appears to be consistent throughout the image, with details visible in the foreground and the background.
The smooth, silky texture of the water is beautiful.
I am certain that, without a doubt, in a different challenge more relating to your scene or a free study, this image would have placed significantly higher with a much higher score. As it stands, technically, it didn't have enough purple for the voters to rate you highly, but on its own, the image is beautiful and deserves credit.
All this said, this is a wonderful shot, with many positive attributes and few that I could even begin to tell you how to improve. I'm learning all the time myself! If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me...and have a great day! :o)
