I think this is an interesting point of view artistically, but I think that the event/scene of topic would more likely be the focus in a journalistic shot. The shot would be more dramatic with a sharper focus and deeper DOF in my opinion. I would also probably play around with the cropping and whether or not I would want the stripe centered.

Nice image. I like how the perspective of the centre marking makes it form almost a perfect equilateral triangle in the picture.

A little bit more depth of field would've been perfect, although it looks like it would've been very hard to achieve without shifting the focus further back.
