That is a lot of crop, and it still looks good. At the size we view it here at DPC, it is actually much better than the full sized version.
Good shot, and it was helped by the light being right for good shutter speed. The only suggestion that I would see would be to rub out the little blur of branch behind the mocking bird. It looks a lot like sensor dust the way the crop removed all but a little of it.

Nice. Egrets are fascinating to watch, especially when they are hunting for fish. I have a hard time getting close enough to the egrets for such shots. Maybe if I take my big zoom lens and hike, instead of biking with my Powershot.
