Its a nice idea but too cluttered. The cannon takes away from the statue and is not a very good 'center object'. A different angle or POV would probably go over well.... maybe you tried to hard to get creative. Can't force it....

I like the oerspective, the lighting and the colors. I would have liked this more if it was shot from the same perspective without the "tilt" to the statue. Also, without the title, it would be a bit hard to figure out exactly what this was about.

Comment by sbeaumont:
the reflections in headstones can be dramatic. Ilove the creativity of this but as ever in DPC it may not be appreciated because it is outside of the mainstream. Good luck

I really like a photographer that takes risks. THIS was worth the risk. Congratulations on a great photo!

At first I thought this was a shot with added grain/texture. By your title I see it was on the stone. Interesting I have never seen that before. Maybe this would of scored better if we could of see the stone it's self?

This would have been a winner in this challenge if you had the tombstones writing visible with the reflection. Very good

Thanks all, this was an experiment and my first night shoot...

Not happy, still learning, but i thought i'd post and share.

It was nearly impossible to get all objects in focus and proper lighting. I had to use a second curtain affect to get the reed to show up at all. It was still to bright so I need to learn how to adjust more.

I realized afterwards that my polarizer lens might have helped even though it's not the typical sunny day use.

Yes the reed was blurring...

I was getting a bit closer to what I wanted but a fog rolled in making all shots blurry irregardless of focused or not. This was VERY challenging.

I'd rate it a 40% score in my personal book. But I think it still shows my "eye" for a good shot. Just not my technical knowledge to make the shot.

cool shot. How do you take shots at night? What do yu set your camera's setting at? Everytime I use the camera for night shots I get back blurry pics.

hmmm... you should have focused on the reed or maybe applied a bit of USM.
