Waterhouse's "Ophelia Found"by theSajComment by metoecus: If I could find a picture of the image that your title eludes to I might be better able to appreciate this photograph. Your model seems to be looking at something, but not intently or emotively enough for me to really be interested in what it might be. The jewelry and watch that she's wearing are somewhat distracting, and the strong light and her dark clothing make her look rather pale. A shallower DOF centered on the girl would have helped to direct my attention to her (as it is, I'm distracted by the odd shadow that makes it look like there's a face on the ground behind her head). Taking this photograph on a more overcast day would have helped to soften the light.

Master and Commanderby theSajComment by SJCarter: I really like this photo - albeit I really love the sea & everything about it. The only (possibly) constructive comment I would make is that you might make the sky more blue. The sunburst is perfectly placed, but without losing the silhouette quality turning up the blue (to further confuse the issue of sky vs sea) might enhance the image more. |

Why row when you can sail?by theSajComment by atsxus: I see the triangle, however I see the phrase "Why Row? Sail!" First and formost, and seeing how that is not the point of the photo, I would have tried to find a subject that had more of a presence. |
