The Flag in the 'Old Arcade'by bobdaveantComment by blemt: This is simply a well done interior shot! The flag gives you a strong visual center and adds some perspective to the interior size. Minor technical details include the flag behind the US flag which is a tad distracting, and the light on the right going through another light. That throws the "center" off a bit. I would have considered cropping those lights out. Solid 7. Nice! |

Nothing left to bite.by bobdaveantComment by melismatica: One of the better executed close-ups of a nail-biter's hand...but like the others I've seen, it doesn't show this subject in a new or interesting way. I'm not drawn to this photograph for its own merit outside the challenge guidelines. |

Flower and Weedsby bobdaveantComment by bobdaveant: Originally posted by lindsay: I voted - and commented - on this photograph already, but I wanted to come back to it. This was one of my favorite photos, though I was pretty sure you were going to get some of the comments like "does not fit the challenge." Phooey, I say! I think the focus on the flower and blur of the weeds only adds MORE opposition. Now we have flower/weeds AND focused/unfocused. And anyway, people really do tend to dote on the flower more than the weed. It really shows peoples views on each element: they adore the flower and ignore the weeds. Anyway. I love it. I think that the "rule of thirds" would ruin this shot. Gorgeous gorgeous work.. blows mine out of the water.
Thank you so much for your comments - your thoughts were exactly what I was going for. Thanks again.
Those are my two cents, anyway (or was it two dollars by now? I'll stop rambling.) |
