Opera-house.jpgby pgattComment by ubique: This is a very unusual and therefore most interesting photograph of the world's most beautiful building, Paul. Alas I couldn't be there yesterday, but my niece Kelly (roadrunner) was present & had a great day. I absolutely love how you have managed to capture this presumably rare moment when the largest sail was in shadow, but all the other sails were in either full or nearly full sunlight. I have never seen that before, among ten zillion shots of the House. I'd also like to see a closer crop of this shot; I think you've captured a full tonal range in the sails alone, and I think the effect would be even more spectacular (if a little abstract) when cropped really tight. Congratulations on an original image of a much-photographed subject! |

Curvyby pgattComment by Artyste: I missed this one in voting.. but I like it. A little soft where it could be shaper, which is probably one of the things that hurt this in voting. (the other would have been the fact that there's not a lot of "white" here.) A nice, unique, creative take on the challenge, and for a photo period. |

First Lightby pgattComment by buzzmom: in the challenge i didnt score this all that well...i didnt see where the lighting was a major element...however standing on its own i really like it...i love the almost monochromatic feel...the deep sense of blue is great...it makes this scene one i would like to look at often...it has a very calming and serene feel...its beautiful |

Lazy Sundayby pgattComment by inspir8tion: This is great. I love how the deck leads your eyes into the photograph and how whispy the clouds look. |
