Fresh Baked Snackby Zap228Comment by Skip: while i appreciate your effort here, this is more of a macro with a shallow dof than an image with good bokeh. |

Fresh Baked Snackby Zap228Comment by OFreasier: This would be a great photo to accompany a recipe for those cookies :) They look very tasty and this is a great shot for, and beyond, this challenge. Just goes to show how seemingly everyday things can make a great picture :) |

Fresh Baked Snackby Zap228Comment by ahaze: The short definition of Bokeh from KenRockwell.com, which I am using for voting on this challenge: "Bokeh describes the rendition of out-of-focus points of light." We don't see that here. Is the subject enhanced by the bokeh of the background? No bokeh really to speak of, just a shallow DOF photo. |

IMG_0519edit.jpgby Zap228Comment by wkmen: I like the subject and composition of this picture a lot. One way to improve it would be to crop out the sky above the light posts and the blown-out pier of the bridge on the right side. In addition, you could select the sky and photoshop it to decrease the lightness and boost the saturation slightly. (I tried it, and there is some color left in there.) Maybe a pass of sharpening, too. I realize you may have cropped it already to get to here, but I think taking out the other areas is one of those "less is more" situations. See what you think. |

New Year's Resolution: Laying Off the Liquerby Zap228Comment by Gauti: Hey, man, that's almost a full bottle. I've you'd like to get rid of it, just send it to me :)
Or invite me over, we can kill it while we plot World Domination or Blue Ribbons (whichever is easier)
Light a bit harsh and hard reflections on the bottle and glass. Did you try backlighting? Glassware is difficult to work with. Esp if, like us, you don't have a proper studio with proper lights. |
