Challenge: Bokeh (Advanced Editing IV)
Camera: Canon EOS-300D Rebel
Lens: Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6
Location: My House
Date: Jan 3, 2005
Aperture: f/5.6
ISO: 400
Shutter: 1/13
Galleries: Macro, Food and Drink
Date Uploaded: Jan 6, 2005

This shot was taken just after I finished baking. I feel that the blurred background has a sense of my interpretation of "neutral bokeh".

Post processing -
Photo shop elements 2.0
I used auto levels, auto color correction, and auto contrast, then raised the saturation. I then used unsharp mask.and cropped off the top because of an odd cookie color blur that ruined the black background.

Taken with the 18-55 Kit Lens set at the full 55mm with no flash fired.

while i appreciate your effort here, this is more of a macro with a shallow dof than an image with good bokeh.

This would be a great photo to accompany a recipe for those cookies :) They look very tasty and this is a great shot for, and beyond, this challenge. Just goes to show how seemingly everyday things can make a great picture :)

The short definition of Bokeh from KenRockwell.com, which I am using for voting on this challenge: "Bokeh describes the rendition of out-of-focus points of light." We don't see that here. Is the subject enhanced by the bokeh of the background? No bokeh really to speak of, just a shallow DOF photo.
