This looks like one of those shots were you just have to take it even if the technicals aren't quite what you wanted. A fascinating view of their world.

I've never seen more than two sandhill cranes in one place. This is quite an amazing shot. One thing quite interesting is how unaffected many of the other cranes are. They are just going about their business in the background.

This is a great thumbnail, I was really excited. I was slightly disappointed with the bigger version in that I think the focus is on the their bellies vs. their heads/eyes where I would prefer it to be. It looks like maybe you added a lighting effect it has made their heads a bit too over exposed, I would like to see it maybe with different post processing. This shot is a potentially wow shot. I really think you have something good here.

If you re-work it I would like to see.

I'd love to travel out west and see a mule deer. I see plenty of their smaller cousins all the time.

how wonderful is it to be able to capture shots of these graceful, timid, beautiful creatures?! :) They always make me smile. :)

I would love to get this close to a fox. I would like to see a little more contrast in this image, and perhaps a bit sharper as well.

I love the bokeh here. I think the centered composition works perfect for this because you lock right on to its gaze. The image seems a little soft, perhaps a little USM could make it a little crisper?

Not as sharp or as I would like - maybe its a touch out of focus - agree that the cropping of the ears hasn't hurt this image.

i really like the intensity of his posture in this shot, he really looks intent on something... i like to think he is going to pounce soon.
