I think my eye is drawn to the left flower because of the major difference in brightness from the right. Somehow shading, or positioning the light to provide more attention to the flower in focus would have helped immensely here. The bright flowers just have too much visual weight to ignore them.

I adore this! Notice how the dark part of the background is behind his head and upper body, creating a "bust" of sorts. This contrasts with his body as a whole, which is dynamic and moving, as emphasized by the lines on the ground. The eye is drawn to the boy, but the boy himself is outward-directed, creating an overall dynamism to the picture. and it doesn't hurt that he has such a kick-a$$ expression on his face. ;)
