I really, really like your concept. And the selective desat and blurred hand help focus attention on the ball. Unfortunately, the soft focus in the ball itself leaves me wanting to know more about what I'm seeing instead of grabbing my attention in a good way. 5.

First off, cool crystal ball! I really like the desaturation and think you selected a very good DOF to help blur out that background. The placement of Steve in the shot is subtle and suits the challenge well. Being that he is a nature photographer and the point of the challenge is to try and track him down, I think this photo meets the challenge perfectly. Well done. :)
