View from the rough - The Ryder Cup 2004by kevrobertsonComment by KaDi: The out of focus or blurred grass really detracts from this composition. The blade whick nearly bisects the image horizontally and the blade or thick twig at the bottom interrupt the flow of the lines. Cute sense of humor for the challenge, but on its own it really conveys nothing of "sport". |

Going over the game...by kevrobertsonComment by photom: Nice positioning of your models - composition is very pleaseing. The few wildflowers add a great feel. The over saturated colors really work well for this image. I like the slim Jim format - it may even be better with a little of the sky cropped off. |

Going over the game...by kevrobertsonComment by e301: A middle ground image, I would think: the areas of over-exposure in the sky, the messy skyline, and the right-hand kid's arm over his face will all get marked down I would think. For me, somehow the dof doesn't actual add to the shot - it isn't a fundamental part of the composition: imagine, if the background were out of focus, would it make a great difference to the composition? Not to my mind (the goalposts aren't a significant enough element - the football tells us what's been going on). It has an unprocessed look, and I think it cries out for more work - to lighten the faces, darken the clouds, add some depth and impact to the figures. Also, for me, the colour detracts from the image, taking the eye where it might be better to concentrate on shapes rather than colours |

" 3 is a magic number "by kevrobertsonComment by scalvert: Surreal, somewhat unnatural colors. Very pretty. Ideally, I wish there was just a faint glow from the lights, but I'm sure you had no say in the matter. Good luck! |
