I think my biggest problem is that I don't see the environment. The emotion in the face is fantastic, but this challenge was to see the subect in their environment. To communicate how the environment defines the subject and how they interact within that environment. You could remove the mike stand and change the angle of her hand and you have a great shot of grief.

I think this would have been way better without the hand at the mic. First impression, picture all alone, is she's eating something. Then with the title I see she's singing, so that's the mic. And she needs some expression.

A bit dark for me. And I'm in a dark room with a calibrated monitor. It does add a certain gloomy mood. I think a little more exposure in the city area would have been nice.

I like the idea and the fact that there are no lights on the building does add to the harsh, abandoned/ apocalyptic feel to the city. It does come across as a very dark photo and a bit hard to make out what it is.
