Tales of ancient timesby SistoComment by tvsometime: Indeed. Where is this? Very convincingly captured. The juxtaposition of the castle with the mountains across the channel conjures such a feeling of historical sensibility. 7 |

Jawsby SistoComment by Bear_Music: I think this is hysterical. I was one of your 9's. I wish I could think up stuff like that. |

Redsby SistoComment by Lydia: This actually kinda works at being a good image despite selective desat. Ha!
It doesn't help that I'm not a fan of partial desat. Ha! |

Redsby SistoComment by VBW: I'm not a fan of selective desat, but putting that aside while grading today. Instead, I'm grading overall composition and whether I feel like the item that is colored draws my interest or if i feel like it pulls my interest away from something else that i find more personally meaningful in the picture.
The chair is placed nicely in frame and draws the eye. I like the continuation of the color on the bricks as it helps draw the eye to the chair and helps to balance out the strong red of the chair. I don't much like the color on the back wall behind the tree as it draws away from the chair as a subject. |

Redsby SistoComment by MEJazz: Looks nice. Wish it was sharper. Still one of the better entries. |

Tales of ancient timesby SistoComment by Bear_Music: Well... the boat's not THAT ancient; it's a pilot schooner or something similar, and the design is likely late-19th century :-) But I'll give you the poetic license, and it's quite the moody, stunning picture. |
