December Coneflowerby rileyComment by ahaze: The short definition of Bokeh from KenRockwell.com, which I am using for voting on this challenge: "Bokeh describes the rendition of out-of-focus points of light." Check. Is the subject enhanced by the bokeh of the background? Check. Nice. Cold. |

Frozen Sleepby rileyComment by mrorange002: From the Critique Club...
This is an excellent example of hidden faces, the rock definately has the appearance of a sleeping face, and the grass makes a nice frown. I find the one piece of grass over the rocks left eye (right from our perspective) very distracting, and think removing it before the shot would have helped you to recieve a higher score. The crop is good, and the noise isn't too noticeable, but a little noise reduction would definately help. Also, maybe a slight burning in of the sky would help to give the overall image more of a "cold" and "tired" feeling to it.
Overall a good image. Keep up the good work, i hope this critique has helped a little!

Frozen Sleepby rileyComment by notonline: a different title would have made a lot more difference the way people will see this photo. |

Frozen Sleepby rileyComment by scrum8: Nice observation and well done. I might have tried coloring or tinting the background a little. |

Frozen Sleepby rileyComment by nova: Nice creative "face", but it seems a bit noisy to me. I might have tried to clip away the vertical bit of straw right in from of the eye on the right side. (6) |
