Comment by Brad:
Great composition and subject matter. Lighting and detail are good, rich in color without being over-saturated. Good use of diagnonals with the ferns set that way. ((8))

Comment by L1:
I really wish to see the top of the building. Contrast needs to be boosted, the image is quite flat and washed out. Has a lot of potential, keep fiddling with it. :o)

Greetings from the Critique Club!

Snow always makes photography tricky. In the background, it fools the lightmeter into underexposing the subject. As a subject, like this photo, it tends to be overexposed since it is so much brighter than the background. Unfortunately, once a camera sensor pixel is "burned out", detail is lost; no amount of postprocessing can bring it back. That's why the top of the "flower" is lacking the rich texture visible in the bottom part.

That technical problem aside, this is a great subject. A vertical format may have worked better, but the point of view is perfect, as is the depth of field. I don't know how many people "got it", but I find the photo both humorous and beautiful.

I like your angle and composition but I don't think the B&W works for this. It looks like there might be a lot of interesting colors that I'd like to see

Would have been better if you got the whole building in the picture
