This is an exquiste pet portrait but I'm not seeing high contrast. It's mostly mid tones. The lighting is perfect and the detail - awesome but it just doesn't meet the criteria to my eye. In a black and white or pet portrait challenge - 10.

nice picture, well shot and nice tones. Unfortunately, pretty much all midtones and almost no darks and highlights. Think you are gonna get some dnmc's on this. Good luck.

This is very nice. I like the tonalities & colors of it. It's interesting how it *appears* not to be quite leveled up, even though a guideline check of the actual horizon shows us ti is level. This is because the jetty is deviating by such a small amount from true horizon level. Getting up a little higher (a foot or two would suffice) would separate the jetty from the horizon a fair amount and help clear up this ambiguity. Still and all, a nice shot :-)
