This is my favorite macro shot in this challenge (okay, I admit, I didn't look at all of them close-up--there were just too many), and one of my favorites ever. I like the steely look of the exoskeleton and the mirrored sharp, slicing look of the plant. Very intense with a lot of interest for the eye. Beautiful lighting and DOF. Best of luck!

I love it! Now that the contest is over, you should play with some filters maybe or at the minimum, make it available for prints. This would look great hanging in an office or home! Nice work, Justin!

This is a really cool picture. However, if it was truely adjusted to monochorme I don't think it meets the challenge criteria. All pictures in the challenge could have been adjusted to monochrome. If I misunderstood, your titla and the grasshopper is actually the same color as the background and vegetation, my appologies. I still gave you a 6 because I do like the picture. It's well composed, good lighting, and an interesting subject matter.
