Beginning of a new life by PascalComment by flaherma: Beautifully done! Partial desats are difficult to get away with but this is handled perfectly (IMHO) and I love the sweeping feel. I'm sure this is a photo any bride and groom would be thrilled to have in their wedding album. |

... then I saw the Moon by PascalComment by snaffles: Greetings from the Critique Club! (And congrats on the ribbon too ;-)
Dang that's an impressive couple of captures, and excellent blending to boot. I love how the elements of moon, rock and (created?) water all unite in sheer size and scope, but that tiny human figure is what helps pull it all together. The huge moon with the human just off the centre, then the eye goes down the pathway to the water to discover what lays there. The colours of each element in this pic complement and work well with each other.
Ok guess it's time to try and nitpick now...always difficult with a ribboning image...I just wish the horizon at rock and water was a little bit sharper, because the water (and reflections of course) looks great.
And it really is Mount Olympus, so pretty amazing locale! Great work Pascal Keep up the good work and hoiking camera gear up there :-)

Elements of Harmonyby PascalComment by blindjustice: I really like this one, (perhaps the killer central fog was toxic for some folks- because it could have easily been top 3). Message edited by author 2016-09-26 13:22:56. |

Elements of Harmonyby PascalComment by sidpixel: Hello from the critique club
An appealing image that meets the challenge
Your apt title says it all. There is a lovely mystical quality to this dream-like image where slowly a beautiful mermaid will magically appear. I like the near-abstractness of it all where land merges into mist/sea/sky almost seamlessly with sufficient separation from the band of blue to make the clouds seem like a reflection of the water. Well done in achieving a higher score than you anticipated and for your HM Paschalis. |
