with understated grace, 6:56 pmby myceliumComment by mycelium: Originally posted by ubique: For 1/10 sec, it's a beautiful composition! That's meticulous work even if you had 1/10 day. And it's nicely processed, too. I liked it at first glance, for the grand forms and textures; it has an epic look to it. And I liked it on reflection as well, for the wealth of interesting detail that rewards the closer inspection. Best 1/10 sec work I've seen! |
Thank you - I really feel like I got lucky with this one. What really gets me is that there are views like this all over the place in scenic parts of the country--these brilliant compositions that exist for only a flash as you fly by on the road. *Blink* and you're past it. I had little idea what I was capturing at the time; I just clicked the shutter, and found this when I came home.
By way of illustration - all the following pictures were taken in succession, pointing the camera pretty much straight out the window -

Deep in Utah Countryby myceliumComment by Kelli: Great perspective! I usually don't like people in landscape shots, but in this case they make you realize just how vast this area is. Beautiful job! |
