In Glacier National Park, at Lake Macdonald, you can hold rainbows in your hand.

The beach was covered with rocks of every color of the rainbow--bold, vivid colors that jump right out at you. No light tinting here; no, the beach could as well have been made out of paint chips. Amazingly pure colors everywhere, pebbles almost as small as sand to larger than the ones in this picture.

It was really amazing

Hey, thanks. Actually, I have to admit (and I didn't mean to mislead in the Photographer's Comments section) that I did use PS for the toning. The Draganizer action was useful with this as well as dodge & burn. The lighting in the original exposure was much harsher than this, and the colors more washed out. But then, this version is a lot closer to what I saw at the time than the photo was before.

I see what you're saying about the finger being cut off... and I agree, it adds some visual tension that doesn't help this photo compositionally. Unfortunately, the finger was cut off in the original. Mostly I just wanted this to be a snapshot of the rocks that were there.

Thank you for your detailed comment... I really do appreciate it.

I really like how you use the depth of field to have the hand suspended in space. My only quibble is that I wish you hadn't cut off the end of the middle finger. I'd have liked to have seen the whole hand floating on the background, but that's just me. The water drip adds a nice touch.
