Haunting.... excellent treatment. It's refreshing when you find out a shot of this quality was done only with a regular old desk lamp. :-)

I don't know how you see it, but to me it's a portrait that says 'welcome to my world'. Great photography.

Wow!
Hypnotic and emotive are hardly expressive enough for the artistic nature of this portrait. Nicely Done!

Hi mon Cheri,

I had done my voting and I had no clue what photograph could possibly be yours. :)
So what to do? Pbase! :) I had given this an 8 before I checked and I am not going to change it. O :-)

Great photo, it has such strong composition and lighting. The guitar leads me trough the frame and the hands show me what's going on. The beard sheds some light on the character that is playing, it leaves something to the fantasy of the viewer. That way the viewer can decice for himself if this is a country, heavy-metal, bluess, jazz or pop player. Fits everyones views.
I like the darkness in the background and on the face of the guitar body, it helps to direct the eye to the more important parts: the hands and the long bit supporting the strings. Shame about the highlight blowout of the string tensioners, but you'd need another camera and a lot of underexposure with shadow correction to get any detail back. It distracts a little, but should be accepted as the limitation of photography.

I must say, it sure is one of the best I've seen from you in 2004 and I hope it does well. Let's rock in 2005!
See ya!

This is a great find and I like this shot but have a couple of suggestions. First, I'm not crazy about the burning around the border. It's very obvious and not needed. Second, the lighting seems a bit harsh. Maybe to much contrast? This might have been unavoidable because of the time of day. I'd like to see this image with softer lighting. Good luck!

Gave this top marks. Very clever composition and vantage-point. You're not afraid to have parts of the picture quite dark which is a rare thing on DPC. Like the tint and the vignetting.
