The focus is way off, and the fingers are very much in the way. A vertical crop in B/W with sharp focus and just the flower in the frame with lots of black space above it might have worked, but it doesn't really fit the subject of silence anyway...

I see where the "whimsical" comes into play, those colors are indeed whimsical! For me, they're a little to bright, the glare on the rock is distracting. A higher shutter speed would've maybe helped a bit. If you've adjusted the contrast afterwards, then maybe try a little less contrast and a little less brightness in the future.
