just thoughts...by lei_73Comment by tvsometime: A sensitively constructed composition respecting the flatness and dynamism of the picture plane and the four lines describing its edges. Lines spring from those edges and reframe fields of texture and mood which contrast and contend with each other. Abstract and deceptively understated, this image is an exercise in minimalism that is at the same time tense with repressed expressionism. It is one of the few that has both a good eye for the art of composition and a feeling for modernist sentiment. If I had a bling to apply, this would get one. voted earlier |

I'm wondering if the dark reflection adds to it. I guess it kind of gives a sense of mystery....I'm not sure if it's a bit distracting, voted earlier. |

OK. I'm back. The complementary colors are candy. The blurred motion of the snow is just right to add a dreamy natural texture. The clean processing on the railings reminds a David Hockney painting. And McDonalds. The shadowy reflection on the right is ominous while the mysterious object on the left keeps us in reality and out of a dream. The composition is balanced and the eyes can't help but jump around with wonder.
Congrats, you are my personal selection for an Honorable Mention from the ImageNation Jury awards!

just thoughts...by lei_73Comment by PennyStreet: I keep coming back to this... a sensitive, trained eye only would notice and care to shoot a view such as this one. Out of season, lonely and poetic but I find hope here... 8 |
