Pretty lighthouse. I wish there was a bit more breathing room above the lighthouse. It also seems to have a slight tilt to the left. Very pretty though.

It's leaning a bit to the left. I also would have liked to see a bit more of the surrounding landscape to give it more context.

I think this will suffer because of the link to the challenge. I know it said any interpretation of a light, but I think this will get marked down because it is a picture of a big light and not a subtle or novel interpretation.

As for the photo itself, I would like to see it rotated a fraction so the light is vertical and the horizon level. The background and foreground are both a little dull and the whole thing looks a bit lifeless to me.

I would have like to have seen this taken at dusk on a day with a beautiful sky and the lighthouse operating. I think that would have scored much higher.

Not a bad shot, though I think you need to rotate the pic a few degress clockwise, unless this happens to be in Pisa, Italy. Straight horizons always help, and they're one of the easiest things to correct!

Great capture. Would love a different crop though, either tigher on him or showing a little more on the bottom. Preferably the first of the two.

Great composition and subject matter. Lighting and detail are good, rich in color without being over-saturated. ((8))

what a beautiful capture. i hope that this is not being overlooked in this super-sized challenge, and that you are getting good feedback. i hesitate to criticize, but i do think you would have had a stronger entry if you had really cropped tightly. the image has nice bokeh, but the background is so large, it takes away from all the wonderful detail you've caught in his face and dress. oh well, that's just my opinion. you have a fine image, and that's what matters. good luck with this, and all the challenges yet to come!
