eternal desireby theodor38Comment by arngrimur: Good composition, nice contrasts.
I find the bacground to light and the area on and below the hands on the right to dark. |

katie-kirbie.jpgby theodor38Comment by MrAkamai: Interesting poses and I like how the foreground girl's arm frames the face of the one in the background. The duotone is nice but it looks like it was a selective one since the background girl's face is still in color. Her hair is way overexposed and is a bit distracting. But I really like this one a lot and great work! |

katie-kirbie.jpgby theodor38Comment by Kylie: Very cool capture and original. I like this a lot. Good use of sepia tones, also. The girl's eye is dead on. |

nude-1.jpgby theodor38Comment by claudia26: this silhouette is amazingly nice in the way the light and the curves blend - it holds a very fine balance between some abstract curves and the view of a body; very impressive photo!!

katie-5.jpgby theodor38Comment by KevinRiggs: Now. Voila! You got it. Here is a shot that is splendid. You used negative space and lighting in your composition to enhance the attention on the subject. You also left the negative space in the place where the model's eyes are looking. Very nice aesthetics on this composition. Your DoF is also killer here. I like that the strands of hair on either side are out of focus (the strands in back moreso). You captured a range of tones on the subject's face which is how people would see her and it shows some personality in her expression (see the "almost" dimple where the shadows start to darken just to the side of her mouth? See the gradual shadow under and beside the model's nose? Now little things like that, IMO, make all the difference. If there is a nit that I would pick with this it would have to do with the eyes. The subject's eyes are large and bright but not completely clear (perhaps late night partying in celebration of doing a model shoot with Theodor). I can't say that you should clean this up but just that its noticible and you might want to look into touching the veins out of her closest eye and trying to bring it back to white (this isn't a "need to" kind of thing; I like the shot just the way it is).
This is indicative of the kind of work you do and I bet you'll just expand on this emotive kind of work in the future and keep on blowing us away with portraits to complement your self-portrait and challenge submissions.
Very good job. |
