Nice idea. The strong colors of the tiny truch really pop. The eye and its catchlight works well too. Suggestions for improvement: 1) Try moving the "hole more off center and 2) The egg-shell color, fading to dark, of the blurred pipe would be more effective if it had more pizzazz.

Hmmm, perhaps cut the flash and use a light to light the subject from the other end of the tube. The flash really drowned the shot and causes it to be blurry too. If you used a light at the other end your subject would be in focuses as well bring in some light to give the tube it's texture and clarity...and maybe makeing it a more interesting photo. Did you try that?
