this photo tells a story, and i like that. it makes me stop and think, and wonder. what is that boy doing? why is there a larger sized shoe beside him? is he waiting for his dad, mom, brother? why didn't he went along? is he bored?

I find it quite hard to keep my attention where one would think it should be: there's a leading lines element that draws the eye to the two boys, and the colours they're wearing stand out from their background more than the group of four girls are the obvious subject. Also, I think that's because the boys are actually doing something - and that is intriguing, suggests a narrative, a story, whereas the girls are simply standing still for the camera - or appear to be.
