A decent close up, but the lighting is pretty harsh on it. I find the narrow DOF does not do this subject well. It's not bad at all, it's just not doing anything for me.

I get many low scores and have no clue why, since most don't take the time to leave their critique.

My opinion about this image is still true... and I'm sorry if my honest critique offends you... truly, I am.

I am guilty of being prejudiced... like most here... but I don't vote images down just because they don't appeal to me. I hate snakes, but give an honest opinion of the photographic talent shown when I encounter a snake photo.

littlegett has some images that appeal to me, but this is not one of them.

Not sure that I like the tight, centred crop. But there is something about the colours and texture at the top of the image.
