Yeah, I like this grouping. It feels right. Something intimate about it. Not in a comforting sort of way, in a close sort of way. Could be dangerous, getting so close.

this series has the problem of one photo being too good, and that's this photo.

this reminds me of the first landscapes, which would have one or more people tucked into a corner to show the majesty of nature. They were Romantic paintings, capital R. This man is proudly part of what surrounds him. This man is the kind of man who built these surroundings.

these photos create the illusion of pure black and whiteness, no grays. As if you've figured out the world for us and drawn it simply. But of course you haven't. You've only revealed the mystery, not solved it.
