Phantom of the Operaby TallblokeComment by BobsterLobster: Interesting shot, but not really sure what to make of it for this challenge. Perhaps for a 'dead music' challenge? ;-) I think he should be a tad less transparent. I do feel I have to vote this down for not meeting the challenge, but I do think it is a good shot. |

Phantom of the Operaby TallblokeComment by Skip: almost too subtle. if the viewers don't spend enough time with this, it will not get the score you want. nice effort, though. |

Edited-small.jpgby TallblokeComment by armelle: It's a nice photo! and the clouds are so rich in texture and contrast.
You did a good job with the dodging and burning to bring out details in the clouds. It might have added 'sparkle' to dodge a bit more of the sea surface on the right side, where the sun is shining...not sure if you were using midtones or highlights for the dodging? not sure if it really makes that much of a difference?
And I wonder how it would look if you darkened the mountains more (all while lighting up the ocean more as well...)
The post processing gives extra dimensions to your already nice photo! Well done!

Edited-small.jpgby TallblokeComment by Balko: I know we are supposed to critique the porcesing....well, Steve, you did a fantastic job! I had to really hard, which I think is the point here, to find one small area that I would like to improve.
That area is the green/yellow of the land on the far right. I would lighten that a bit as it would reflect the light of the clouds.
I'd love to be where this picture is! |
